After two successful years in Santiago, Chile, Lollapalooza — the iconic festival founded by Jane’s Addiction’s frontman Perry Farrell — is back and excited to announce Pearl Jam, The Black Keys, deadmau5 y Queens of the Stone Age as headliners for Lollapalooza Chile 2013.

The lineup will also feature A Perfect Circle, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand, Two Door Cinema Club, Hot Chip, Passion Pit, Crystal Castles, Kaiser Chief, Alabama Shakes, Puscifer, Toro Y Moi y Gary Clark Jr., among many others. Rounding out the impressive roster of talent will be Chilean bands Los Tres, Manuel Garcia, Gepe and Chancho en Piedra. Electronic music heavyweights Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Hot Chip, Major Lazer, and Porter Robinson will also take the stage, as will Hip Hop star Nas, among others. In total, more than 60 bands will perform over the course of the two-day festival.

In the past two years, Lollapalooza Chile has solidified its place on the go-to list of summer music festival destinations in South America, offering the same world-class experience that fans and musicians from across the globe have come to expect.

For Chilean bands, the festival has been an exciting conduit to performing at Lollapalooza Chicago as well, as was the case for Los Bunkers, Anita Tijoux and Chico Trujillo in 2011 and Los Jaivas in 2012.

The Festival returns to Parque O’Higgins on April 6-7, 2013 with six stages of non-stop music in addition to all of the other favorite Lollapalooza activities like the dedicated family-friendly area, Kidzapalooza.

Since 2011, Lollapalooza Chile has attracted over 200,000 music-loving fans to the park. Last year’s festival boasted musical performances by Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, MGMT, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Björk and Skrillex, among others.

Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza was created in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction front man, Perry Farrell. Originally conceived as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction, Lollapalooza quickly became the defining musical and cultural event of the Alternative Rock movement in the 1990’s. Redefined as a destination event in 2005, Lollapalooza is now one of the largest music festivals in the world, with events in Chicago, Santiago, Chile, São Paulo, Brazil, and Tel Aviv, Israel.

Perry Farrell

Perry Farrell is one of the most influential and original musical figures in recent history. Dubbed as the "Godfather of Alternative Rock," Farrell fronts Jane's Addiction, which formed in 1985. Creating a new genre and musical movement, Farrell and Jane's Addiction changed the music scene and paved the way for bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and STP. In 1993, Perry created Porno for Pyros, a daring evolution to his diversity and growth. As well as being a groundbreaking musician, he is the creator and founder of Lollapalooza.
